I’ve decided to join the Firth Yearly RIP Challenge. It seems to be one the most popular around and as Lady Catherine de Bourgh would say: I must have my share in the conversation!
Because of the almost 2 and a half-years worth of books in my TBR shelf, I promised myself I would only enter challenges if I could read my own books, so I went though my list and found some with potential. Since it’s my first year, I’ll only do Peril the Second and read two books. Haven’t decided on which ones, so if you’ve read any of the candidates, let me know. Here they are:
- The Stand by Stephen King
- Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith
- Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk
- The Night Watch by Sergei Lukyanenko
- The Years of Rice and Salt by Kim Stanley Robinson
Right now I’m tending towards P&P and The Night Watch which I bought in Moscow as a souvenir (the story is set there) because I really like the movie adaptation.

Good luck with the challenge!
Of those books, I’ve only read The Stand. It’s a big book but it’s quite easy and fast to read. I loved it!

You know, I have 3 different books titled Night Watch on my bookshelves – none of those the russian one.
to be honest none of those seems that captivating to me, but I am going to vote for Pride Prejudice and Zombies, for selfish reasons, it seems the one in which I think your opinion could get to be the most entertaining 😉

Great that you have some books on your shelf already that you can read for the challenge. Thanks for joining in, and please do have your share of the conversation and more. It is most welcome and appreciated.

I haven’t read any of them, but The Stand has been on my list for years and years. Maybe your review will urge me to get to it sooner rather than later 😛

I haven’t read any of them, either, but I do own the Night Watch and hope to read it one of these days!

I think I’ll stick to my initial choices.
I was really tempted by Haunted, but I’ve heard that some people actually get physically sick while reading it and I need to be mentally prepared for such a thing…
