Happy Happy birthday! It looks like you’re doing all the right things to celebrate! I’m strongly believe that one cannot get another year older without indulging in lots of sugary treats!

Happy (belated) Birthday, Alex! And may the coming year be rewarding to you: more enjoyable books and movies to come! Yes, The White Countess is Ishiguro’s only screenplay, and it’s directed by James Ivory. If you’re a Merchant/Ivory fan, do re-watch it and compare it with their other productions. This one is memorable because it’s Merchant’s last film before his passing, and both Lynn Redgrave and her niece Natasha Richardson are no longer with us.
